Composing For The Piano

Course Description:

This course is designed to introduce you to composition. This is for those who have a good grip on music theory and want to expand on their knowledge. You will learn about the elements of what makes music what it is and learn about how composers write music. It is recommended that you finish Music Theory levels 1, 2 and 3 before taking this course. 

What You Need to Know:

• How to read music

• How to identify key signatures

• Basic chords such as major, minor, diminished and augmented triads

By the End of the Course You Will Be Able To:

• Understand how piano pieces are put together

• Understand the musical idea, the motif and how it is transformed

• Apply these concepts to your own music composition
